Pooja Kumari’s Journey from Tharparkar to Educational Empowerment
My name is Pooja Kumari and I belong to a Hindu religious minority from Tharparkar Sindh, Pakistan. I have completed a Bachelor of Education (Hons) degree from Government Elementary College Mithi. Currently, I am pursuing a Master of Arts in Education at the Asian University for Women in Chittagong, Bangladesh. Apart from my study, I have been involved in various volunteer activities and have supported girls from my community in their higher education. I have received various training including Right to Information organized by CWS-A in Murree. I am also associated with Malhi Social Development Organization (MSDO). I have organized workshops and awareness campaigns in various districts of Sindh for girls’ education. I have written articles in local Sindhi newspapers on a range of social issues, such as the increasing suicide rate in Thar, minority rights, problems with girls’ education, Swami Vivekananda’s philosophy, etc. I desire to change society by encouraging females’ education, so they equally take part in the decision-making processes.
I am extremely grateful to Hindu Sindh Foundation organization for their generous support to help me in my career education through technology. Hindu Sindh Foundation gave me a brand new laptop for my further education to achieve my goals in education.
It will help me to make my life easier to complete my University assignments in a timely manner over a laptop.
